Another win for the Cobras!
What a good game!
The Chelmsford Cobras welcomed the Haringey Greyhounds for a fantastic, hard-fought game of hockey, with both teams bringing energy, determination and plenty of action from the first puck drop to the final whistle.
FIRST PERIOD
The game got off to a flying start, with end-to-end hockey and both teams working hard to create opportunities. The Cobras struck first at 2:41, as 6 Becky Freeland found the back of the net for her FIRST GOAL FOR THE COBRAS. Assisted by 69 Neradova and 13 Howe, it was a brilliant moment for Becky.
Haringey continued to press hard, but the Cobras moved the puck around well, showing some great hockey and teamwork. A strong opening period from both sides.
SECOND PERIOD
The second period started with just as much energy, but Haringey found the equaliser at 1:47 into the 2nd, bringing the game to 1–1.
The Cobras were handed a penalty at 26:26, but once again, our penalty killers were absolutely fantastic! A huge team effort to keep Haringey at bay.
The rest of the period saw plenty of back-and-forth action, with both teams battling hard, but neither side could find the go-ahead goal.
THIRD PERIOD
With everything still to play for, the ladies came out ready to battle. Haringey kept the pressure on, but the Cobras dug deep, showed incredible determination and never gave up.
With under two minutes left on the clock, the moment we'd been working for arrived. 15 Jenny Shephard tipped the puck into the back of the net to send the Cobras ahead, assisted by 17 Plankova and 2 Ferrier, it was a fantastic team goal at a crucial moment in the game.
The ladies worked incredibly hard right until the final whistle, showing heart, grit and determination when it mattered most.
A HUGE WELL DONE TO ALL THE LADIES.
Every single player put in the hard work, battled for each other and showed what this team is made of. We're so proud of the effort, commitment and never-say-die attitude on display!
A massive thank you to everyone who came along to watch and support us, your support means so much.
And, of course, thank you to everyone behind the scenes who helped make the game possible. These games don't happen without you, and we appreciate every single one of you!
Thank you again to Haringey Greyhounds for travelling and for a great game of hockey.
WE GO AGAIN THIS COMING SATURDAY!
