Pythons welcomed Oxford to Chelmsford this past Sunday and were looking for another strong performance.

The ladies came ready and prepared, and just over two minutes into the first, Howe found the back of the net to kick off the scoring. Pythons continued to make strong plays towards the net, getting multiple shots on goal and at 12:14, Freeland was the next to find a path past the keeper and increase the lead by two. Approaching the end of the first Dadd found another opening, with Freeland getting the assist and the period ended with the Pythons leading 3-0.

Showing their confidence and momentum heading into the second, Pythons had 34 shots on goal, and scored an incredible 11 goals during the second period. With goals from Freeland (x3), Howe (x3), Quilter (x2), I. Morena, Parker and Dadd, with great setups from Parker, Dadd, Quilter, Wilson, Green, Howe, Freeland and A. Adamson all logging assists on the play. An incredible performance for the second period saw the Pythons now leading 14-0.

With a more than comfortable lead heading into the third, Pythons didn’t let their attention slip and continued their strong defensive line, limiting Oxford chances to advance and just under midway through the period, Dadd found another short handed followed by another two goals in the latter half of the period coming from Green and Wright, with Dadd and Parker on the assists. And the final buzzer sounded and Pythons worked a solid performance for their first shutout of the season.
