Python's bring home another big win!
Pythons played their second home game last Sunday, as they welcomed Milton Keynes to Chelmsford and looked to continue their success from the first game.
First period saw the Pythons go straight on the offensive from the first puck drop, driving the net and Parker burying the first goal of the game at 37 seconds in, Freeland and Dadd with the assists, and the Pythons starting strong. Just under midway through the first, Pythons struck again with Quilter utilising the player advantage off a feed from Simpson-Davies to put the Pythons up by two. Keeping up the pace, Pythons found themselves on the Power Play again and at the 15 minute mark Quilter wasted no time, finding the back of the net unassisted ending the first up 3-0.
Milton Keynes responded early into the second with a return goal of their own to put a little pressure on the Pythons and deny their shutout. Pythons didn’t hesitate to respond, and with a flurry of shots on goal, went on to score five goals throughout the second with Clark, Howe, Wilson, Quilter (for the hat trick!) and Dadd all finding the back of the net. Sumeg-Howard (2), I. Morena, and Parker all logging assists on the play and bringing the score at the end of the second to Pythons leading 8-1.
Heading into the third, Pythons continued their momentum, making solid plays up the ice and their hard work was rewarded with another three goals in the period with Freeland, Dadd and Sumeg-Howard beating the netminder and Dadd, Freeland, Simpson-Davies and Basing all logging assists through the third. Pythons continued to hold MK off well and the buzzer sounded with a very strong 11-1 final win.
